Founded in 1999 by Michele Rossi and Filippo Pagliani, Park Associati is a non-specialized architectural design studio thats works on all scales and project types. They believe in taking in the entire 360 degree view of a project, looking not just at the exterior of the building but how it will be lived in as well; because of this whole project consideration, they will often design a functioning interior space before designing the exterior around it. Park has cultivated a studio culture in which the best projects are the ones where no one remembers who had the idea; this lack of owner ship, of possessiveness over ideas allows for free discussions where the ideas of all team members are on equal ground and can be openly critiqued or built upon. They believe that this is a vital part of the design process and that a person’s ability to work as part of a team is the key for success in their office. A recent project is the I Hotel in Dubai which focuses on the quality of the Italian design spirit. The structure was designed to remind the viewer of Italian design icons, such as Ferrari without being kitschy, and while maintaining a contemporary stye.
