First established in Milan in 2003, One-Off is a rapid prototyping service specialized in the manufacture of models, prototypes and architectural models for the design and architectural sectors. They work at pushing the limits of current prototyping and mass production machinery and use their in-house machines to constantly test the limits of different materials. Current projects involve experiments with prototyping in porcelain, a fragile and demanding material, and with Venice’s famed Murano glass makers to develop a way to mechanically produce a traditionally handblown product.
Taking advantage of One Off’s resources, Industreal was created from a desire to push the limits of their machinery and to realize the and put into production the ideas of Milan’s new generation of designers. The values of the company revolve around translating meaningful ideas into tangible objects through rapid prototyping and techniques that they have learned over time. They operate through open-source on the internet, sharing their research as part of their creative process and initiative to carry on innovation.
