Danese was instrumental in defining the DNA of Italian design. Since the company’s founding in 1957, Danese’s evolution has been dynamic and strongly innovative, a perfect fusion of design culture, creative research and production technique within not only a conceptual framework but also a concretely productive one expressed through simple objects of great quality. Danese’s production embraces a range of archetypal objects whose age and style are hard to define.

In 1999 Carlotta de Bevilacqua became the sole administrator of Danese, and by 2000 she has reasserted the firm’s strategic positioning, creating innovation in continuity through a careful study of new generations of product concepts and new technologies with a focus on environmental quality. Danese’s collection of work falls into thee main categories; LIVING, WORKING AND LIGHTING. In each of these sections the company’s focus is on environmental innovation; by exploring the limits of materials, designs and manufacturing processes, Danese is working towards innovative and sustainable design practices. De Bevilacqua’s recently unveiled Manifesto, a set of guidelines for Danese to follow into the future, touches repeatedly on the ideas of sustainability, responsibility and transparency. With their continued commitment to quality and usability combined with new environmental initiatives, Danese continues to be a leader in innovative Italian design.
