The roman people, fraught with internal conflict and oppression, rose up against the monarchy and determined that the sovereignty of Rome should be in the hands of the citizens of Rome. Along with advancements on transportation and the expansion of their influence, it’s no wonder the Roman Republic thrived for more than 500 years.
