Engineering of Rome

The Roman infrastructure was centered around bringing water into the city and its distribution. The Aqueducts were often incorporated into the walls themselves and the arches used as portas. The bath of Rome were places for people of all auence to meet, exercise and relax. Due to the Romanís superior concrete and engineering skills they were able to build bigger, better and faster than anyone previously. The ability to bring water into a city at such an unprecedented scale was a major factor in Rome becoming the de facto center of the western world.
