Atelier Mendini was founded in 1989 in Milan by brothers Alessandro and Francesco Mendini. With clients in over thirty countries the brothers have worked on projects ranging from objects and furniture, to graphic and interior design and industrial design and architecture. Atelier Mendini is well known for it’s collaborations with Italian design icon Alessi; besides the numerous Alessi products designed by the Mendini brothers, Alessandro designed the company’s factory in Omegna and Francesco led the development of their retail stores. The Mendini brother’s designs are known for their creative use of colour and material, as well as for the sense of play that always shines through, often belying the incredible depth of research, thought and process that go into each of their creations.
