This year we studied the four hill towns of Cortona, Orvieto, Pitigliano and Montepulciano. In the past,
some towns were covered in terms of quantifying observations or gathering objective data for
analysis. Our projects this year help to evolve our knowledge of each town’s identity by understanding
its people and documenting our very personal experiences there. By exploring each town in this
somewhat unscripted way, their distinct characters can naturally emerge in our observations and
interactions.
