IaN + was founded in 1997 by a multidisciplinary team of three; Luca Galofaro and Carmelo Baglivo on design project and theory, and Stefania Manna as an engineering consultant. Together they work towards finding a place where the theory and the practice of architecture can find harmony. One of the most captivating parts of this firm is their commitment to process, in addition to taking on paying contracts, they enter as many architectural design competitions as they can find time for. This not only gains publicity for the company, but, more importantly, it allows them to work in a “blue sky” space free from the demands of clients and their creativity is continually challenged.
